SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the further sum of
|
 
|
ten thousand dollars be and the same is hereby ap-
|

propriated for the benefit of the Faculty of the Col-

lege of Physicians and Surgeons of Baltimore, for
|
 
|
the purpose of the erection, equipment and main-
|
 
|
tenance of a Lying-in Hospital forindigent women, to
|

be located in the City of Baltimore ; and the Treas-
|
 
|
urer is hereby authorized to pay upon the warrant
|

dollars to Robert A. Grilmore, junior, the President

of the Board of Regents of said College of Physi-
|
 
|
cians and Surgeons, or his successor in his office,

to be by him paid over to the executive officer of the
|
 
|
Faculty of said College, upon the presentation of
|
 
|
proper vouchers showing that said sum, or as much
|
 
|
thereof as may be necessary, has been expended, or
|
 
|
is required for the purpose of establishing, equiping
|
 
|
and maintaining said Lying-in Hospital.
|
 
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the sum of twenty-
|

five hundred dollars per annum for four years in

hereby appropriated for the maintenance of said
|
 
|
Lying-in Hospital, and the Treasurer is hereby au-
|
 
|
thorized and required to pay, upon the warrant of the
|
 
|
Comptroller, the said sum of twenty-five hundred
|
 
|
dollars on the first day of October, eighteen hundred
|
 
|
and seventy-four, eighteen hundred and seventy-five,
|
 
|
eighteen hundred and seventy-six, and eighteen
|
 
|
hundred and seventy-seven, to Thomas Opie, M.D.,
|
 
|
Dean of the Faculty of the College of Physicians and
|
 
|
Surgeons, or to his successor in office, for the main-
|
 
|
tenance of said Lying-in Hospital ; provided, that
|

said facully shall admit, treat and maintain in said

|
hospital free of charge all indigent women from any
|
 
|
one of the counties of Maryland or from the City of
|
 
|
Baltimore, who may apply for the benefits of said
|
 
|
institution ; and provided further, that said College
|
 
|
of Physicians and Surgeons shall educate as a phy-
|
 
|
sician, free of charge, save for matriculation and
|
 
|
dissection fees, one student from each Legislative
|
 
|
District of the City of Baltimore, and one student
|
 
|
from each of the counties of this State. And to the

Hebrew Hospital of the City of Baltimore for two
