CHAPTER 308.
AN ACT to refund to Jacob T. Maugans, of Wash-
ington county, the sum of forty dollars paid by him
into the Treasury, on or about the twenty-second
day of July, in the year eighteen hundred and
seventy-one.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of	Issue warrant
Maryland, That the Comptroller be and he is hereby	to pay
authorized to issue his warrant to the Treasurer, to
pay to Jacob T. Maugans, of Washington county,
the sum of forty dollars out of any unappropriated
funds in the Treasury.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take	In force
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 309.
AN ACT to authorize the sale or lease to the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore, of a part of a lot
in Baltimore city, belonging to the State of Mary-
land, located at the intersection of Fremont and
Chatsworth streets, and known as the " State Hay
Scales Lot."
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Governor be and he is hereby
authorized to sell or lease to the Mayor and City	Sell and lease
Council of Baltimore, at his discretion, so much of
the lot belonging the State of Maryland, and which
said lot is situated in the City of Baltimore, at the
intersection of Fremont and Chatsworth streets, and
known as the " State Hay Scales Lot," as may be
required by said Mayor and City Council, or by a
duly authorized commission acting for the City of	Proviso.
