SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall

take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 301.

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to enable

the Directors of the Maryland Institution for the

instruction of the blind, to pay off an indebtedness

existing against that institution.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Maryland, That for the purpose of enabling the

Directors of the Maryland Institution for the in-

struction of the blind, to extinguish an indebtedness

now existing against said institution, the Treasurer

of the State, upon the warrant of the Comptroller,

shall pay to the Treasurer of the Maryland Institu-

tion for the instruction of the blind, for the year

eighteen hundred and seventy-four, the sum of ten

thousand dollars; for the year eighteen hundred and

seventy-five, ten thousand dollars ; and for the year

eighteen hundred and seventy-six, five thousand

dollars, to be paid as directed in manner aforesaid;

and the above mentioned amounts are hereby ap-

propriated for that purpose out of any unappropriated

money in the Treasury.
