CHAPTER 298.

 

AN ACT to declare the sanction of the General As-

 

sembly to the bequest and devise of Charles Spates,

 

late of Montgomery county, deceased, to the

 

Trustees of the Baptist Church at Rockvilie, in

 

Montgomery county, Maryland.

 

WHEREAS, Charles Spates, late of Montgomery

county, deceased, by his last will and testament, did

 

bequeath five hundred dollars, with interest thereon

 

from the time of his death, to the Trustees of the

 

Baptist Church at Rockville, in said Montgomery

 

county, and did also bequeath and devise certain rest

 

and residue of his estate, real, personal and mixed,

 

to his son George W. Spates, and in the event of the

 

death of his said son George W. Spates without law-

 

ful issue him surviving, did devise and bequeath the

 

said certain residue of his estate, real, personal and

 

mixed, to go the Trustees of the Baptist Church at

 

Rockville, in said Montgomery county; therefore —

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Sanction given
to bequest

Maryland, That assent is hereby given to carry

 

into effect the bequest and devise in the last will and

 

testament of Charles Spates, late of Montgomery

 

county deceased, in favor of the Trustees of the

 

Baptist Church at Rockville, Montgomery county,

 

the said trustees to hold and dispose of the same at

 

pleasure.

 

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That this act shall take effect

from the date of its passage.
