CHAPTER 294.

AN ACT to encourage the destruction of Hawks in
|
 
|
Harford and Worcester counties.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
Entitled to
|
Maryland, That any person killing any hawk within
|
bounty
|
the limits of Harford and Worcester counties, shall
|
 
|
be entitled to a bounty of fifty cents for each and
|
 
|
every hawk killed.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That to obtain said
|
 
|
bounty, it shall be necessary for the person killing a
|

hawk or hawks, to produce the head or heads of the
|
bounty

same before some justice of the peace for said
|
 
|
Harford or Worcester counties, and at the same time
|
 
|
make oath that the said hawk or hawks were killed
|
 
|
within the limits of Harford or Worcester counties,
|
 
|
and within six days before the production of said
|
 
|
head or heads before said justice, and thereupon the
|
 
|
said justice shall give a certificate of the production
|
 
|
of said head or heads before him and the taking of
|
 
|
said oath ; and it shall be the duty of the said justice
|
 
|
to destroy the said head or heads so as to prevent a
|
 
|
second allowance for the same.
|
 
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That upon the produc-
|
 
|
tion of the said justice's certificate, the Commissioners
|

of Harford or Worcester counties are hereby au-

levy

thorized and directed to levy upon the assessable
|
 
|
property of said counties, a sum sufficient for the
|
 
|
aforesaid bounty, for the use of the person or persons
|
 
|
producing the same; and the collectors of tax shall

|
collect and pay the same accordingly.

|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
