SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That this act shall

 

take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 264.

 

AN ACT to repeal section two of the act of January

 

session, eighteen hundred and seventy, chapter

 

three hundred and eighty-seven, entitled an act to

 

incorporate the Washington, Colesville and Ashton

 

Turnpike Company, and to re-enact the same as

 

amended.

Repealed and
re-enacted.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section two of the act of January

 

session, eighteen hundred and seventy, chapter three

 

hundred and eighty-seven, entitled an act to incor-

 

porate the Washington, Colesville and Ashton Turn-

 

pike Company, be and the same is herebv repealed,

 

amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows :

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the subscribers to

said stock, their successors and assigns, shall be and

 

they are hereby declared to be incorporated into a

 

Company by the name of the Washington, Colesville

 

and Ashton Turnpike Company, and by that name,

 

shall be capable in law of purchasing and holding

 

estates, real, personal and mixed, and of borrowing

 

money not exceeding the sum of fifteen thousand

 

dollars, upon bonds or mortgages, on the property of

 

the company, and shall be capable in law of selling,

 

leasing and conveying estates, real, personal and

 

mixed, so far as shall be necessary for the purpose

 

hereinafter mentioned, and no further, and shall have

 

succession and by said corporate name may sue and

 

bo sued, and may have and use a common seal, which
