Defray the ex-
penses

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That the County Com-

 

missioners of Garrett county, be and they are hereby

 

authorized and directed, to levy upon the assessable

 

property of said county, a sum of money sufficient to
defray the expenses incurred under the provisions

 

of the first section of this act.

In force

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

 

effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 245.

 

AN ACT to amend the charter of the Annapolis

 

Savings' Institution of Annapolis city, a corpora-

 

tion incorporated under the General Incorporation

 

act of eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, chapter

 

four hundred and seventy-one, and to add to the

 

powers thereby conferred.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Deposits of

Maryland, That whenever any deposit shall be made

minors.

by a minor who has not a guardian, in the Anna-

 

polis Savings' Institution, the Directors of said cor-

 

poration are hereby authorized and empowered, at

 

their discretion, to pay to such depositor such sum

 

or sums as may be due him or her, and the check,

 

receipt or acquittance of such minor shall be valid ;

 

and the deposit of a married woman shall be re-

ceived and held, and paid out on precisely the same

 

terms and conditions as those of other adult persons,

 

any law or statute of this State to the contrary

 

thereof, in anywiee notwithstanding.
