CHAPTER 243.
AN ACT authorizing the County Commissioners of
Frederick county, to allow a discount upon county
tax.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Fred-	Allow a dis- count.
erick county, be and they are hereby authorized and
empowered, in their discretion, to allow a discount
not exceeding five per cent, upon all county taxes
paid on or before the first day of September in each
year after the date of their levy, and provide in their
county levy for such discount.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.	In force

CHAPTER 244.
AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners
of Garrett county, to provide for and defray the
expenses of taking the census of said county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Garrett
county, be and they are hereby authorized if in their	Appoint per-
judgment they deem the same to be advisable, to ap-	sons to take census
point six or more citizens of Garrett, county, to take
the census of said county, under such regulations as
may be prescribed by the Board of County Com-
missioners, showing the number of white inhabitants,
. the number of black inhabitants, as well as the
number of inhabitants within the limits of said county,
between the ages of six and twenty-one years; which
census it shall be the duty of the said Board of County
Commissioners, to certify to the Comptroller, on or
before the first day of June next, to be by him used
in the distribution of the several school funds of the
State to said county.
