Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.

Ten minutes having elapsed the Senate proceeded to the
consideration of the order of the day being

The order submitted by Mr. Stevens, relative to the me-
morial of the Baltimore City Passenger Railway Company.

The question being upon the amendment submitted by Mr.
Tuck.

Mr. Stevens submitted the following amendment to the
amendment:

Substitute for amendment of Mr. Tuck, 15th line, strike
out "from" after word "ctiy" and insert "that Senator
Blake be appointed Chairman."

Mr. Earle, moved a call of the Senate,
Pending the call,

Mr. Earle, moved that further proceedings thereunder be
suspended,

Which was adopted.

By unanimous consent Mr. Stevens withdrew his proposed
Amendment.

The question recurring upon Mr. Tuck's amendment.

Mr. Earle, moved to refer the question under consideration
to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings.

By unanimous consent Mr. Earle withdrew his motion.
The question again recurred upon Mr. Tuck's amendment.

Mr. Walsh renewed the motion withdrawn by Mr. Earle,
viz : that the matter under consideration be referred to the
Committee on Judicial Proceedings with the request that
said Committee report upon the Constitutionality of the
legislation proposed for the relief of the Baltimore City Pas-
senger Railway by the Select Committee.

Which was adopted.

The following message was received from his Excelency
Governor Whyte, through the hands of Hon, C. J. Pening--
ton, assistant Secretary of State :
