CHAPTER 228.

 

AN ACT for the benefit of Julia A. Dorsey, widow

 

of Edward Dorsey.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Authorized to

Maryland, That the State Treasurer, upon the war-

pay pension.

rant of the Comptroller, be and is hereby authorized

 

and directed to pay an annual pension of eighty

 

dollars in four equal instalments of twenty dollars,

 

to Julia A. Dorsey, widow of Edward Dorsey, who

 

served in the war of eighteen hundred and twelve,

 

during the term of her natural life ; provided, that

 

the Comptroller of the Treasury shall require the

 

said Julia A. Dorsey, once in each quarter, reckon-

 

ing from the date of the passage of this act, to

 

file with him an affidavit of two credible witnesses ;

 

and the certificate of the County Commissioners

 

of the county of which she is a resident, or. of

 

the Appeal Tax Court of Baltimore city, if a

 

resident of said city, setting forth that the affiants

 

are acquainted with the claimant; that she is a bona

 

fide resident of the State, and was at the time said

 

service was rendered ; that she is the identical person

 

entitled to said pension ; and that the claimant is in

 

indigent circumstances.

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
