Gentlemen of the Senate :

We have received your message, requesting the appoint-
ment of a Joint Committee, to consist of two members on the
part of the Senate, and three members on the part of the
House of Delegates, whose duty it shall be to visit the Mary-
land Hospital, at Spring Grove, Baltimore county, to report
to the two Houses the condition of said Institution, the man-
ner in which it is conducted, and what steps are necessary to
protect the State's interests therein. We have appointed on
the part of the House of Delegates, Messrs. Fowler, Loane
and Clark.
