Public Local Laws, applicable to the City of Baltimore, for
the consideration of your Honorable Body, the Report of the
said Board of Police Commissioners for the years 1872 and
1873.

It is respectfully requested that you submit it, in due order,
for the action of your Honorable Body.

Your obedient servant,

City of Baltimore.

Which was read and referred to the Senators from Balti-
more City.

Also,

The Third Annual Report of the Maryland Institution for
the education of the Deaf and Dumb.

Which was referred to the Committee on Education.

Mr. Earle presented the petition of the Trustees of the
Baltimore Eye and Ear Institute, asking an appropriation by
the Legislature.

Which was read and referred to the Committtee on Finance.
On motion by Mr. Tuck, it was

Ordered, That the Governor be respectfully requested to
transmit to the Senate, the Testimony and other Documents
in the State Department in relation to the case of Joseph W.
Davis, now under sentence of death in Carroll county.

On motion by Mr. Tuck, it was

Ordered, That the Printer furnish to the State Librarian
two copies of all Senate Bills, to be bound in two volumes,
and preserved in the Library for the use of the Legislature,
and that the person who may be appointed to index the Senate
Journal, prepare an index to said bills, to be bound with
each volume.

Mr. Davis, from a Select Committee, to whom leave had
been granted, reported a bill entitled, "An Act to limit the
hours of labor in this State, for all Minors under the age of
sixteen years."

Which was read the first time.
