CHAPTER 223.

AN ACT to authorize the Comptroller to settle the
|
 
|
claims of Laurence D. Deets.
|
 
|
WHEREAS, it appears from evidence furnished that
|
 
|
the said Laurence D. Deets, did obtain from the
|
Preamble..
|
Treasury a license for him to act as auctioneer in the
|
 
|
City of Baltimore, for one year from the twenty-sixth
|
 
|
day of January eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, for
|
 
|
which he did pay the sum of four hundred and fifty
|
 
|
dollars, and from circumstances then unknown to
|
 
|
him was unable to use said license, and never did
|
 
|
enter said business of an auctioneer, until the
|
 
|
eighteenth day of November, eighteen hundred and
|
 
|
seventy, at which time he was again required to pay
|
 
|
the sum of four hundred and fifty dollars, there-
|
 
|
fore —
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
 
|
Maryland, That the Comptroller is hereby requested
and directed to issue his warrant upon the Treasurer
|
Appropriation.
|
to pay to Laurence D. Deets, the sum of four hun-
|
 
|
dred and fifty dollars.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
|
 
|
effect from the date of its passage.
|
