recovered before a justice of the peace by warrant.

town, in the same manner that commitments aro
made for tines imposed by the Circuit Courts of this
State; provided, that no commitment under this
section shall be for a longer period than two day.
nor until after hearing and judgment ; but the said
President and Commissioners shall have power iit	Remit Hues, &c
any time to remit or release the said tines, penalties,
forfeitures and costs, or any part thereof, at their
discretion ; but any party who shall be fined, or
subjected to any penalty or forfeitures, may, within
five days after the same shall be imposed and judg-
ment recovered, supercede or stay the same for thirty
days, by giving security satisfactory to the said jus-
tice of the peace; and the said fines, penalties and
forfeitures shall thereafter be collected, as small debts
are now collectable before a justice of the peace.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall	In force.

CHAPTER 217.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the County
Commissioners of Baltimore county, to pay Cod-
ling and Lishear, contractors for building the new
Alms-house in said county, the sum of two thou-
sand dollars, and to repeal so much of the act
passed January session, eighteen hundred and
seventy-two, chapter three hundred and sixty-eight,
as may be inconsistent with the provisions of this
act.
