erics, relative to the fact that neither the Act of I860, Article
XLI, nor the Act of 1870, chapter 205, relating to the Poto-
mac Shad and Herring Fisheries, is of any force or effect, by
reason of non-concurrence of the authorities of Virginia, and
the said Committee to report the result to this Legislature at
the earliest practicable day," and concur therein.

We name on the part of the Senate Messrs. Earle and
Aydelott.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of Dole-
gates.

Mr. Lloyd presented the petition from the Managers of the
Home of the Friendless of the Eastern Shore, located in
Easton, Talbot county, asking aid from the General Assem-
bly of Maryland.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.

Mr. McCulloh submitted the following message to the
House of Delegates :

By THE SENATE,

February 18th, 1874.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We have received your message proposing that the Com-
mittees on Pensions of the two Houses act as a Joint, Commit-
tee on pensions, and respectfully concur therin.

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to. and sent to the House of Dele-
gates.

On motion by Mr. Steiner,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill entitled "An Act providing for the
registration of the voters of the State, repealing the Act
passed January Session, 1870, entitled au Act to repeal au
Act passed January Session, 1868, relating to registration of
voters, and to enact other provisions in lieu thereof,' and sub-
stituting the following in its stead.

On motion by Mr. Brattan,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill authorizing Thomas J. Graham,
