CHAPTER -194.

AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and Councilmen

of Frostburg to construct water-works for, and to

lay water mains through said town, to buj' the

necessary appurtenances for the protection of

property, and to issue bonds for that purpose.

To construct

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

water-works

Maryland., That the Mayor and Councilmen of Frost-

burg, in conjunction with Fire Commissioners, to be

hereinafter named, constituting a Board of Super-

visors, be, and they are hereby authorized, for the

better protection of property and convenience of

citizens, to construct water-works for, and lay mains

throughout the town of Frostburg, and to purchase

appurtenances necessary for the protection of prop-

erty.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Mayor and

Supervisors

Councilmen of Frostburg, in conjunction with Thom-

as G. McCulloh, J. T. Getzendaner, James Kane,

Douglas Percy and Nelson Beall, be, and they are

hereby constituted a Board of Supervisors for the

aforesaid purpose ; the term of office of the said Fire

Commissioners to expire upon the completion of the

aforesaid works, and the Mayor and Councilmen

then to assume complete control.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the aforesaid Board

for reservoirs

of Supervisors may acquire, by purchase or other-
wise, sufficient land needed for reservoirs, laying of

mains, or for any other purpose necessary for the

complete construction of said water-works, and may

contract or agree with person or persons for the

construction of the same, or any part thereof, or any

materials necessary therefor.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That for the purpose of

poses hereinbefore mentioned, or any of them, the

Mayor and Councilmen of Frostburg, in conjunction

with the aforesaid commissioners, be, and they are

hereby authorized to issue coupon bonds of said

town of Frostburg, to the amount of fifty thousand
