Baltimore, belonging to the Society of Friends in the said

Which was read the first time.
On motion by Mr. Getty, it was

Ordered, That the State Librarian be, and he is hereby
directed to furnish to the Members and Officers of the Senate,
portfolios, for the use of their desks.

On motion by Mr. Deuson, it was

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal, that Senator
Blake is not in his seat, on account of sickness.

Mr. Steiner presented the petition of Andrew Boyd, James
Whitehill and John H. Keller, the majority of the Board of
Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Frederick city,
remonstrating against any alteration of the charter of said
Church, without the consent of said corporation.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
report a bill entitled "An Act to authorize the State Line and
Juniata Rail Road Company, now the Baltimore, Philadel-
phia and New York Rail Road Company, to construct and
operate their said railroad within the limits of this State."

On motion by Mr. Phelps,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Phelps, Claggett and Fields,
to report a bill to repeal Article X., sections 113 and 114, en-
tied "Dorchester County," sub-title "Fish," and to re-enact
the same with amendments.

Mr. Lloyd presented the petition of citizens of Talbot coun-
ty, relating to hauling seines for the purpose of catching fish.

Also,

The petition of numerous citizens of Talbot county, relating
to Kent Island Narrows.

Which were jiead and referred to the Committee on Chesa-
peake Bay and its Tributaries.

Also,

The petition of citizens of Talbot county, relating to tax on
dogs.
