AN ACT to confirm an act entitled " an act to de-

clare the sanction of the General Assembly of
|
 
|
Maryland to the bequests of John Coates, late of
|
 
|
Baltimore city, deceased, to the Trustees of the
|
 
|
Methodist Protestant Church, corner of Lombard
|
 
|
and Green streets, in the City of Baltimore,"
|
 
|
passed at January session, eighteen hundred and
|
 
|
seventy-two, chapter three hundred and eight,
|
 
|
approved April first, eighteen hundred and sev-
|
 
|
enty-two, and to confirm and declare the sanction
|
 
|
of the General Assembly of Maryland to said be-
|
 
|
quest of said John Coates, deceased.
|
 
|
WHEREAS, John Coates, late of Baltimore city,
|
 
|
deceased, by his last will and testament, duly admit-
|

ted to probate and recorded in the office of the Reg-
|
 
|
ister of Wills of said city, bequeathed unto the
Trustees of the Methodist Protestant Church, corner
|
 
|
of Lombard and Green streets, in said City of Balti-
|
 
|
more, the sum of three thousand dollars, from and
|
 
|
after the death of his wife, Lucretia Coates, the
|
 
|
object of which bequest is for the purpose of pur-
|
 
|
chasing out the ground rent of said church, and not
|
 
|
to be devoted to any other purpose ; and,
|
 
|
WHEREAS, at January session, eighteen hundred
|

and seventy-two, by chapter three hundred and

eight, of the acts of that session, the General Assem-
|
 
|
bly of Maryland declared or intended to declare, its
|
 
|
sanction to said bequest of said John Coates, de-
|
 
|
ceased, which act was approved April first, eighteen
|
 
|
hundred and seventy-two ; and,
|
 
|
WHEREAS, in the engrossed and published copies
|

of said act, the word " bequest " was omitted from

section first thereof; therefore,

SECTIO.N 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
 
|
Maryland, That said act of assembly of eighteen
hundred and seventy-two, chapter three hundred
