Appoint Judges

26. The Mayor and City Council shall appoint

of elections

three judges of election for each ward, ,who shall

 

have power to appoint clerks, and conduct elections

 

in all respects as elections for members of the Gene-

 

ral Assembly are required to be conducted, opening

 

the polls at nine o'clock in the morning and closing

 

them at six o'clock in the evening, and the said

 

judges and clerks shall receive the same compensa-

 

tion as judges and clerks of elections in Allegany

 

county, to be paid by the said city.

 

27. The inhabitants of the city of Cumberland,

28. The City Council shall consist of twelve

as hereinafter provided. The members of said City
