CHAPTER 50.

 

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments,

 

section five, of chapter one hundred and seventy-

 

three, of the acts of the General Assembly of Mary-

 

land, passed at the January session, of eighteen

 

hundred and sixty-four, entitled an act to incorpo-

 

rate the " Meridith's Ford and Jarrettsville Turn-

 

pike Company'' in Baltimore and Harford counties.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Repealed

Maryland, That section five, of chapter one hundred

 

and seventy-three, of the acts of the General Assembly

 

of Maryland, passed at January session, of eighteen

 

hundred and sixty-four, entitled an act to incorporate

 

the " Meridith'a Ford and Jarrettsville Turnpike

 

Company," in Baltimore and Harford counties, be

 

and the same is hereby repealed, amended and re-

enacted so as to read as follows :

SEC. 5. There shall be a meeting of the stock-

 

holders of said company, held at such place as the

 

president and directors may appoint, on the second

and when they shall elect in the manner prescribed

 

in section three of this act, a president and five direc-

 

tors, any three of whom shall constitute a quorum ;

a treasurer, and such other officers as they may deem

tion ; and may by a majority of votes present, adopt,

 

add to, alter or amend such by-laws, rules, orders

 

nd regulations as may be deemed necessary for the

 

interest and well governing the affairs of said com-

 

pany, provided they continue none of the laws as

 

mentioned in section three of this act.

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
