MONDAY, February 16th, 1874.
The Senate met at 12 o'clock, M.
Prayer by Rev. Father Oberley.

Present the following Senators :

Messrs. President, Aydelott, Blake, Brewer, Brattan,
Denson, Earle, Fields, Getty, Longwell, Lloyd, McCulloh,
Phelps, Stevens, Spencer, Tuck, Walsh—17.

The proceedings of Friday were read and approved.

Mr. Blake presented the petitions of one thousand and
twenty-one lady petitioners of Baltimore, and vicinity, pray-
ing the passage of a Local Option Law.

Also,

The petition of one thousand one hundred and twenty-eight
male white voters of Baltimore, and vicinity, praying for a
Local Option Law.

Also,

The petition of Mrs. Elizabeth Orem, and fifty-three other
laidies of Baltimore city, praying the passage of a Local Op-
tion Law. '

Also,

The petition of W. H. Little, and eighteen other citizens
of Baltimore, praying tho passage of a Local Option Law.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Temperance.

Mr. Aydellott presented the petition of one hundred and
sixty-seven citizens of Worcester county, praying for a Local
Option Law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Tem-
perance.

Mr. Earle presented the petition of sundry merchants, trad-
ers and business men of Baltimore city, asking a modifica-
tion of the License Laws.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.

Mr. Blake presented the memorial of the Citizens' Railway
