CHAPTER 22.

 

AN ACT to enable Thomas H. Hodges to erect a

 

gate on the public road in Anne Arundel county.

Authorized to
erect a gate

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Thomas H. Hodges, of Anne Arun-

 

del county, be and he is hereby authorized to erect

 

a gate across the public road in front of his house,

 

where there was a gate when the first gate law of

 

Anne Arundel county was passed.

In force

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

 

effect from the date of its passage.

 

Approved, February 13th, 1874.

 

CHAPTER 23.

 

AN ACT to repeal section one hundred and ninety-

 

nine, article one, of the code of Public Local Laws,

 

entitled Allegany county, sub-title "Birds."

Repealing and

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

re-enacting

Maryland, That section one hundred and ninety-nine,

 

of article one, of the code of Public Local Laws, en-

 

titled Allegany county, sub-title "Birds," be and

 

the same is hereby repealed, and re-enacted so as to

 

read as follows :

Allowance for

SEC. 199. That any person or persons who shall

killing birds of
prey

shoot, kill, or destroy, any hawk, owl, mink, wea-

 

sel, or skunk, shall by taking the said hawk, owl,

 

mink, weasel, or skunk, or the head thereof, before

 

any justice of the peace of said county, as evidence

 

of said killing or destroying, and making affidavit

 

that the said animal or bird was bonafide taken and

 

killed in Allegany county, shall receive an order

 

upon the Tax Collector of Allegany county for fifty

 

cents for every hawk or owl, and for every mink,

 

weasel, or skunk alias pole cat, an order for twen-

 

ty-five cents, and the said Tax Collector of Allegany
