On motion by Mr. Brewer,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Brewer, Stevens and Denson
to report a bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 109 of Ar-
ticle XXVIII. of the Code of Public General Laws, title
County Commissioners,' sub-title 'Meridian Line Standard,"
and to re-enact the same with amendments."
On motion by Mr. Aydelott,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Aydelott, Spencer and Earle
to report a bill to authorize the Clerk of the Circuit Court for
Worcester county to copy the general index to Land Records
in his office from 1742 to 1844.
On motion by Mr. Mudd, it was
Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal, that the
Senator from Prince George's is absent from his seat on ac-
count of injuries sustained by the accident on the Baltimore
and Ohio Rail Road on Tuesday last.
On motion by Mr. Stevens,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill entitled ''A supplement to the Act of
November Session, 1812, chapter 159, entitled 'An Act for
founding a University in the city or precincts of Baltimore,
by the name of the University of Maryland,' and to autho-
rize the Regents of the University of Maryland to dispose of
a portion of the property held by the said University for the
use of its Faculty of Physic, and to apply the proceeds to-
wards the erection of a Hospital for the use of the said Facul-
ty and the School of Medicine under its direction."
On motion by Mr. Longwell,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Longwell, Walsh and Knight
to report a bill entitled "An Act to authorize the County
Commissioners for Carroll county to levy for such sum of
money as may be requisite to furnish the office of the Regis-
ter of Wills of said county with the necessary record book,
stationery and fuel."
On motion by Mr. Longwell, it was
Ordered, That the officers of the Senate, for their services,
shall severally receive the same compensation as was allowed
them for the Session of 1872.

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
