Said bill was then sent to the Senate.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bills:

The Senate bill entitled an Act to designate the Arbitrator to
ascertain and fix the boundary between the States of Virginia
and Maryland,

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.

Also,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of mo-
ney to pay the claims of Ruth P. Griffith and Susanna Bond,
of Baltimore City, and Lydia Smith, of Harford county,

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Pensions.

Also,

The Senate bill entitled an Act for the relief of St. John's
College.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Ways and Means.

Mr. Merryman" Chairman of the Committee on Agricul-
ture, reported with proposed amendment.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 469, of
the Act of 1864, chapter 328, entitled "Live Stock," and re-
enact the same as amended.

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 469, line 9, after the word "Comptroller," insert
"Provided, That the compensation of no employee shall ex-
ceed the sum of twelve hundred dollars per annum."

The proposed amendment was adopted,

And the bill, as amended, read a second time.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act passed at Janu-
ary session, 1872, chapter 237, entitled an Act to provide for
the collection of arrearages of State taxes due on the shares
of capital stock of National Banks and Banking Associations
located in this State and doing business therein,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to amend the Act of 1867, chapter
