Laws, title ''Calvert County," sub-title "Taxes," providing
for the appointment of a Treasurer and a more economical
collection of taxes in Calvert county, be referred to a Select
Committee.

The order was adopted,

And said bill referred to Messrs Bird, Gill and Brace.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 619, 620, 621,
622, 623, 624, 625, 626, 627 and 628, of Article 4, of the
Code of Public Local Laws, title "Baltimore City," sub-
title "Justices of the Peace and Constables," and to re-enact
the same so as to read as follows,

Was read a second time, and,

On motion of Mr. T. H. Hamilton,
The further consideration thereof was postponed.

The bill entitled an Act to amend an Act passed at the ses-
sion of the General Assembly of Maryland, held in the year
1867, entitled an Act to incorporate the Beneficial Savings
Fund Society of Baltimore,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to pay Eliza Winiagder, of the
City of Baltimore, the sum of three hundred and thirty dol-
lars, due for pensions for the years 1870, 1871, 1872, and
1873,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the employment of
convict labor on the construction and repairs of the public
roads in Anne Arundel county,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the town of Deer
Park, in Garrett county,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore to purchase and buy out the stock and
interest of the Baltimore City Passenger Railway Company,
together with sach appurtenances belonging to said railway
as the said Mayor and City Council may deem proper,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
