The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 2, of Ar-
ticle 37, of the Code of Public General Laws,title''Evidence,"
sub-title "Competency of Witnesses," as amended by the
Act of January session, 1868, chapter 161, and to amend and
re-enact the same.

Which was read a second time.

Also,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to refund to Mary Cooke,
executor of George Cooke, surviving partner of the late Wm.
Cooke & Sons, for the benefit of Dr, Richard S. Stewart, James
Cheston and others, moneys erroneously paid by them to In-
spectors of Tobacco in Baltimore City, for outage and
storage.

Which was read a second time.

Mr. Merryman, from the Committee on Agriculture, re-
ported with amendment,

The Senate bill entitled an Act for the taxation of dogs in
the State of Maryland:
