A bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money for
the use and benefit of the House of Eeformation and Instruc-
tion for Colored Children, situated in Prince George's
county, for the erection of an additional family building and
other necessary shops and out-houses.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Ways and Means.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bills,
Severally endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays:"

The Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Article 69 of the
Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Officers," by adding
thereto additional sections, to follow section 12 of said Ar-
ticle,

Was read a first time and referred to the Committee on
the Judiciary.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Chesa-
peake Immigration, Land and Improvement Company of the
State of Maryland,

Was read a first time and referred to the Committee on
Corporations.

Mr. Hines, (Mr. Stake in the Chair,) submitted the follow-
ing message:

BY THE HOUSE OP DELEGATES,

April 2, 1874.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We have received House Bill No. 78, entitled an Act for
the promotion of Agriculture and Mechanical and Household
Arts in Harford, Kent and Prince George's counties, which
you have amended by striking out the words "Prince
George's" in said bill, and we respectfully non-concur in the
same and ask your Honorable Body to recede from the same,
and herewith return said bill for that purpose.

Chief Clerk.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the Senate.

Mr. Nutwell, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
reported without amendments,

Senate bill entitled an Act to amend an Act entitled an
Act to incorporate the Merchants' Mutual Insurance Company
of Baltimore, and to extend the term of endurance of the
same.

Which was read a second time.
