the State Librarian to furnish certain of the State Reports to
the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Wicomico county,

Reported unfavorably thereon.
The unfavorable report was adopted.

Mr. McColgan, acting Chairman of the Committee on the
Judiciary, reported with amendments,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to add an additional section
to Article 5, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Cal-
vert County," sub-title "Taxes," providing for the appoint-
ment of a Treasurer, and a more economical collection of
taxes in Calvert county.

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Strike out the words "the Governor, by and with the
advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint a person to
be," in the 6th and 7th lines of the bill, and insert in lieu
thereof, "there shall be elected at the next general election
and every two years thereafter."

Strike out the words "shall notify the Governor of his
failure to execute said bond, the Governor," in the 28th and
29th lines in the 2d page of the bill.

The proposed amendments were adopted,
And the bill, as amended, read a second time.

Mr. Merryman, Chairman of the Committee on Agricul-
ture, reported without amendments,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of
the Maryland Agricultural College, passed at January ses-
sion, 1856, chapter 97.

Which was read a second time.

Mr. McCelgan, acting Chairman of the Committee on the
Judiciary, reported without amendment,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to declare the sanction of
the General Assembly of Maryland to the bequest and devise
of Charles Spates, late of Montgomery county, deceased, to
the Trustees of the Baptist Church at Rockville, in Mont-
gomery county, Maryland.

Which was read a second time.

Mr. Lancaster, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 2, Article 36, of
the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Estrays," and
re-enact the same with amendments.

Said bill being upon a second reading,
