than thirty thousand dollars, the sum of two hundred and
twenty-five dollars.

68. If more than thirty thousand dollars, then the sum of
two hundred and fifty dollars shall be demanded and re-
ceived by said Clerk before granting to the applicant the
license applied for.

69. No license shall be granted to sell spirituous or fer-
mented liquors or lager beer in quantities not less than a
pint, for the sum of fifty dollars, unless the person applying
therefor shall also obtain a license to sell goods, wares and
merchandise, for a stock in trade not less than one thousand
dollars.

ORDINARIES.

70. If any person or body corporate shall propose to opeu
or keep an Ordinary in which spirituous or fermented liquors
or lager beer may be sold in quantities less than a pint, at
any one time, he shall apply to the Clerk of the Circuit
Court of the county in which said applicant may reside, and
shall present his recommendation as aforesaid, or if be re-
sides in the City of Baltimore, to the Clerk of the Court of
Common Pleas, for a license therefor.

71. The said licenses shall be granted on the following
terms : The applicant shall be recommended to the Clerk by
five respectable freeholders of his immediate vicinity, and
shall muke oath, to be by the said Clerk administered, that
he has bona fide, and without intending to evade the require-
ments of this Article, provided and expects to maintain six
good beds, with sufficient covering therefor, and three rooms
more than sufficient for the private uses of said Ordinary
keeper, with stabling and provender for five horses at least;
and if said applicant resides in the City of Baltimore, that
he has provided and expects to maintain twelve good beds,
with covering aforesaid, and six rooms more than suffi-
cient for the private purposes of said Ordinary keeper.

72. The said applicant shall also state upon oath, and
satisfy the said Clerk of the Circuit Court, or the Clerk of the
Court of Common Pleas, by further proof as to the situation
of the house or place and premises at or in which the busi-
ness to be authorized by the license may be done or intended
to be done, and the rate of rent or annual value thereof, in-
cluding all the buildings and grounds occupied or used in
connection therewith, and the said Clerk shall issue the
license on the following terms :

73. If the rent or annual value of said house or place and
premises does not exceed one hundred dollars, the sum of
fifty dollars shall be paid for such license.
