So the motion was rejected.

The bill entitled an Act to add two additional sections to
Article 58, Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title
"Lunatics and Insane," to be numbered twelve and thirteen.

The bill being upon its second reading,
Said bill,

On motion of Mr. Loane,

Was made the order of the day for Wednesday, April 1st,
at 1 o'clock, P. M.

The bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to
pay Leyin L. Waiters, Wm. J. Aydelotte and Isaac D. Jones,
balance of compensation and expenses due to them respec-
tively as Commissioners of this State to adjust the boundary
line between the States of Virginia and Maryland.

Said bill being on its second reading,

Mr. Merryman submitted the following amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED,

In line 5, section 1, insert in lieu of "$1,000," "$1,500."
The amendment was rejected.

Said bill was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to appropriate the sum of $5,000,
or so much thereof as may be necessary, for the purchasing of
a suitable lot and the erection thereon of scales adapted to the
weighing of hay, straw and live stock,

Being upon its second reading,

On motion of Mr. Stewart, of Baltimore City,

Said bill was postponed until the 6th of April, next.
