1208 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 31,

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the Weigh-Master of
Live Stock in the City of Baltimore to sell such portion of
the property now belonging to the State, and not required for
the use of the State in the weighing of live stock,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to provide for the passage of loco-
tives, cars, passengers and freight over connecting railroads
in the State of Maryland,

Was read a second time.

Mr. Buchanan, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported

The Senate hill entitled an Act to add an additional sec-
tion to Article 8, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Baltimore County," sub-title "Collectors,' with proposed
amendments:

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Insert after the word "after," in the 6th line, the words
"first of September after," and add to the bill the following :
"Provided, The same abatement shall he allowed for the
prompt payment of all county taxes, including taxes for roads
and public schools, as now allowed, or as may hereafter be
allowed by law, for the prompt payment of State taxes."

The proposed amendments were adopted, and the bill read
a second time.

The bill entitled an Act ceding to tho United States of
America the jurisdiction over the lands in Prince George's
county, owned by the United States, and constituting the
site of Fort Washington, and also over lands that may
hereafter be conveyed to the United States, adjoining thereto,
for military and naval purposes, and which are herein de-
scribed,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

Mr. Feuton, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to enable the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore to subscribe, to the amount of two
hundred and fifty thousand dollars, to the capital stock of the
Washington City and Point Lookout Rail Road Company.

Which was read a second time.

Mr. Nutwell, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably,
