The bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact section 7,
of the Act of 1871, chapter 80, entitled an Act to amend the
Act of 1853, chapter 194, entitled an Act to incorporate the
Baltimore and Potomac Railroad Company, and to repeal the
second section of the Act of 1860, chapter 71, and to extend
the time for the completion of the Baltimore and Potomac
Railroad,
Being on its second reading,
Mr. Berry proposed the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
In 36th line, section 7, strike out the word "persons," and
insert "coals," and at the end of section 7 insert, "and it is
hereby further provided, that in the event of the refusal or
neglect of the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad Company to
comply with the provisions of this Act, either as to the rate
of charges or making up of the time-tables for the passage of
trains of the Western Maryland Railroad, or other roads, who
have the right to use the tunnel, then and in that case the
