The bill entitled an Act to repeal Article 71, of the Code
of Public General Laws, title "Oysters," as amended by
chapter 364, of the Acts passed in 1870, and chapter 167 of
the Acts of 1872, and to re enact the following, to be Article
71 of the Code of Public General Laws, title ''Oysters,"
Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays, with proposed
amendments :"
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Section 2, line 13, after the word "land," insert "nor
within a half mile of Plum Point."
Section 2, add to the end, "but it shall be lawful for the
owner of any such boat licensed as aforesaid, whenever said
owner shall sell and convey by bill of sale for a bona fide
consideration said boat, with any person who has been a
resident of the State of Maryland for at least one year, to
transfer the said license to said vendee with said boat; which
said license, when so transferred, shall entitle said vendee, with
said boat, to the same privileges for catching oysters in the
waters of this State, that the original vendor or assignor
had before said assignment; Provided, The said vendee and
assignee shall appear before the Comptroller of the Treasury,
and make oath before him to all the facts, matters, things,
perquisites required of said original vendor or assignor be-
fore taking out such license; upon which said license the said
Comptroller shall certify the fact of said vendee or assignee
having taking said oath, and for which the said vendee or
assignee shallpay the sum of five dollars, to be paid into the
Treasury State of Maryland."
Section 3, line 10, strike out the words "each of the crew
to be employed;" also strike out all after the word "pro-
vided," inclusive.
Section 6, line 5, by striking out the words "or to any
officer," and insert in lieu thereof the words "to any Com-
mander or Deputy Commander."
Section 10, line 3, insert after the words ——, the words
"State Treasurer or."
Section 11, line 6, after the word "county," insert "or
city."
