Also, unfavorably,

A bill entitled an Act to refund to I. Dyer, one of the firm
of Penn, Dyer & Co., and of I. Dyer & Co., and of Thomas
J. Hall & Co., and to Townsend, French & Co., monies erro-
neously paid as outage and storage on tobacco.

The unfavorable report was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Bond,

The vote by which the unfavorable report was adopted,
was reconsidered.

When,

On motion of Mr. Bond,

The unfavorable report was non-concurred in, and the bill
substituted therefor.

Said bill was then read a first time and,

On motion of Mr. Bond,

Was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.
Mr. Keech, from the Committee on the Judiciary, reported

The Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the Johns
Hopkins Hospital to purchase and hold tracts of land in Bal-
timore county, and to erect thereon buildings for the recep-
tion of convalescent patients from the said Hospital; and also
to purchase and hold tracts of land in Baltimore county for
the reception, education and care of orphan colored children,
with proposed amendments.

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Amend title of bill by striking out the words "in Balti-
more county," in the fourth line of title thereof.

Amend the first section by striking out the words "in Bal-
timore county," in the 8th line of said section.

Amend the first section by inserting after the words "col-
ored children," in the 12th and 13th lines, "not exceeding
for both of the said particular purposes, three hundred acres
of land."

The proposed amendments were severally read and adopt-
ed, and the bill, as amended, read a second time.

Mr. Joyce, Chairman of the Committee on the Militia, re-
ported favorably,

The Joint Resolutions in relation to the equipment of the
State Militia.
