1018 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 24,

A bill entitled an Act to regulate the issuing of licenses
for the sale of spirituous and fermented liquors in this State.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Fenton, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to authorize the Board of Police
Commissioners for the City of Baltimore to appoint a Clerk
to the Marshal of Police for said city.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Stake, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled a supplement to an Act entitled an Act to
incorporate a Company to make a turnpike road from Hag-
erstown, in Washinton county, to the town of Sharpsburg,
passed at January session, 1853, chapter 129.

Which was read a first time.
Also,

A bill entitled a supplement to an Act entitled an Act to
incorporate a Company to make a turnpike road from Hagers-
town, in Washington county, to the Pennsylvania line, passed
at December session, 1846, chapter 333, and to an Act enti-
