Amend section 1, in line 3 : After the word "county," in-
sert the words "and Jesse K. Hines, late Clerk of the Circuit
Court for Kent county ;" in line 6, section 1, strike out the
word "his" and insert "their."

The proposed amendments were severally read and adopt-
ed, and the bill, as amended, read a second time.

Mr. Fenton, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to authorize the Board of Police
Commissioners for the City of Baltimore to appoint a Clerk
to the Marshal of Police for said city.

Which was read a first time, and,

Oa motion of Mr. McColgan,
Was recommitted to the Committee.

Mr. Williams, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported'
without amendments,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the town of
Hillsborough, in Caroline county.

Which was read a second time.

Mr. Lee, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported with-
out amendments,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal, amend and re-enact
section 136, of Article 12, of the Code of Public Local Laws,
title "Harford County," sub-title "Sheriff."

Which was read a second time.

Mr. Stake, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
without amendments,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 292, Ar-
ticle 21, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Washing-
ton County," sub-title "Sheriff," and to amend and re-enact
the same.

Which was read a second time.
Also, without amendments,

The Senate bill entitled an Act authorizing the County
Commissioners of Washington county to purchase certain
parcels of ground lying contiguous to the Court-house in
said county, for the use of said Court-house.

Which was read a second time.

Mr. Hines, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,
