On motion of Mr, McCosker,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Inspections to in-
troduce a bill to repeal section 15, of chapter 153, of the Act
of 1872, entitled an Act to provide for the inspection of
steam boilers in the City of Baltimore, and re-enact the same
with amendments.

Mr. Seth, from the Committee on the Judiciary, reported
without amendments,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of Assem-
bly of 1858, chapter 13, passed February 10th, 1858, enti-
tled an Act amendatory of the Act of Assembly passed at
December session, 1834, chapter 87, entitled an Act to in-
corporate the Trustees of the Education Fund of the Balti-
more Annual Conference, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

Which was read a second time;
Also, without amendments,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the sale of
certain property in the eastern part of the City of Baltimore,
belonging to the Society of Friends in said city.

Which was read a second time.

Mr. Seth, from the Committee on the Judiciary, reported
with proposed amendments,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the United
States to procure the condemnation of lands within the State
of Maryland, for certain public purposes, and ceding jurisdic-
tion thereof, when so condemned, to the United States:

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Amend section 5, line 18, by inserting after the words
"issuing the game," the following: "Provided, five days
notice thereof be given to the owner, reputed owner or agent
of such owner of the land proposed to be condemned."

The proposed amendments were adopted,
And the bill, as amended, read a second time.
Also, without amendment,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to add an additional sec-
tion to chapter 434, of the Acts of 1870, entitled an Act to
extend the jurisdiction of Justices of the Peace in and for
Dorchester, Kent, Caroline, Calvert, Carroll, Queen Anne's,
Anne Arundel, Prince George's, Harford, Charles and Wor-
cester counties, to cases of assault and battery.

Which was read a second time.
