Mr. Loane submitted the following order:

Ordered, That Printed Bill Number 97 (House of Correc-
tion Bill) be the order of the day for to-morrow at one o'clock

Which was rejected.

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the town of East
New Market, Dorchester county,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal and amend sections 46
and 48, of an Act passed at the session of 1868, chapter 53,
relating to the town of Centreville, in Queen Anne's county,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Calvert Bank
of Baltimore City,

Being upon a second reading,

Mr. Matthews submitted the following amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Add as additional section, to be section 20:

And be it enacted, That the General Assembly of Mary-
land hereby reserves the right to alter, amend or repeal this
Act at its pleasure.

Make section 20 section 21.

The proposed amendment was adopted, and the bill, as
amended, read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Mr. Gill, Chairman of a Select Committee, to whom had
been referred

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the Academy of
Music, of Baltimore City, to issue its bonds, bearing an in-
terest not exceeding eight per cent, per annum, and to secure
the same by mortgage,

Reported the same with proposed amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 1, line 9, strike out the cord "six," and insert
"eight."
