bill to increase the number of Justices of the Peace and Con-
stables in the 7th and 11th Election Districts of Carroll

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to report a bill entitled "An Act to repeal an Act passed
at the January Session, 1870, chapter 295," entitled "An
Act to repeal section 35 of Article XVIII. of the Public
General Laws, relating to Clerks of Courts, and to. re-enact
the same with amendments, and to repeal section 35, Article
XVIII. of the said Code, which requires an oath, of the Sher-
iff on returning a panel of jurors.
Also,
Leave to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings to report
a bill entitled "An Act to repeal the second section of Arti-
cle XLIX., title 'Joint Obligations and Joint Tenancy,' sub-
title 'Joint Obligations,' of the Code of Public General Laws,
relating to suits or causes of action, joint and several', and
to re-enact the same with an amendment."
On motion by Mr Davis
Leave was granted to Messrs. Davis, Billingsley and
Stevens to report a bill entitled "An Act supplementary to
an Act entitled an Act to incorporate the Ridge Passenger
Railway Company, passed January Session, 1867, chapter
331.
Mr. Davis presented the petition of Samuel M. Rankin,
N. T. Hutchins, Chas. T. Hail and twenty-five others, for the
passage of a law relating to the Alms House fund of Balti-
more county.
Which was read and referred to Messrs. Davis, Stevens and
Billingsley.
On motion by Mr. Stevens, it was
Ordered, That the Comptroller report to the Senate the
entire amount of revenue from all sources paid into the State
Treasury by the city of Baltimore.
