ings to report a bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 38 of
Article XCIII. of the Code of Public General Laws, relating
to Testamentary Law, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments. ''

On motion by Mr. Brewer, it was

Ordered, That Messrs. Brewer, Aydelotte and Mudd be
appointed a Committee on Temperance, to whom shall be re-
ferred all petitions on the subject of temperance and local
option and damage laws.

On motion by Mr. Getty,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Getty, Aydelotte and Craw-
ord to report a bill regulating the number of Justices of the
Peace, in the several election districts in Garrett county, and
to authorize the Governor to appoint the same.

On motien by Mr. Blake,

Leave was granted to the State Board of Health to report
a bill to regulate and prescribe the manner of holding post
mortem examinations in case of death by poison.

On motion by Mr. Knight,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill to refund to Ellen Hevalo, of Cecil county, a sum of
money erroneously demanded of her by the Clerk of the Cir-
cuit Court for Cecil county, for a license, and paid by said
Clerk into the Treasury.

Mr. Brewer submitted the following message to the House
of Delegates :

BY THE SENATE,

February 5th, 1874.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We propose, with the concurrence of your Honorable Body,
that the Committees of the respective branches of the Legis-
lature shall act as a Joint Committee, on the subject of Tem-
perance.

AUGUSTUS GASSAWAY,

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of Del-
egates.

Mr. Brattan, from the Committee on Corporations, reported
favorably.
