The House met.
Present at the call of the roll, the following members:

of Balt, co., Seth, Valliant, Sudler, Coulhourn, Duer, Gor-
dy, Turner, of Cecil, Mackey, Davis, Robey, Thompson,
Kemp, Pruitt, Merrill, Koons, Miller, Lamar, Nicodemus,
Annan, Lee, Dawson, Williams, McCosker, T. H. Hamil-
ton, Cooper, C. R. Hamilton, McWilliams, Staylor, Stewart,
of Balt, city, McAleese, Gill, Hart, Loane, Greenfield, Mc-
Colgan, Groh, Fenton, Freaner, Grimes, Stake, Clark, Wat-
kins, Fletchall, Wier, Wack, Park, Brace, Waters, Galt,
Brown, Stewart, of Howard, Leonard, West—64.

On motion of Mr. Loane, (the rules being suspended,)

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Baltimore City Abattoir
Company.

On motion of Mr. Bird, (the rules being suspended,)

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary
to introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act passed
January session, 1870, chapter 328, entitled an Act to repeal
the 29th section of the 5th Article of the Code of Public Lo-
cal Laws, relating to the pay of the Crier of the Circuit Court
for Calvert county, and to enact a substitute therefor, and to
re-enact with amendments.

Mr. McColgan, from the Committee on the Judiciary, re-
ported without amendment,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for additional
compensation to Charles E. Hayward and Sewell T. Mil-
bourne, of Dorchester county, and to John W. Crisfield, of
Somerset county, for professional services.

Said bill being upon a second reading,
Pending which,
On motion of Mr. Seth,

The further consideration thereof was postponed, and said
bill referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.

Mr. Bird, Chairman of a Select Committee, (the rules be-
ing suspended,) reported favoraby,
