AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Sec. 28, line 3, strike out after the word "force," all that
follows, to the word "and," in line 7, and insert in line 3,
same section, after word "force," "and a Deputy Comman-
der for each district."

Pending the consideration whereof,

Mr. Brace, (the rules being suspended,) submitted the fol-
lowing message:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

March 10th, 1874.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We respectfully request your Honorable Body to reconsider
the vote by which you concurred in the House Amendments
to Senate printed Bill, No. 48, being an Act to amend the
charter of the city of Cumberland, and passed said bill as
amended, and to return said bill to this House for farther
consideration.

Chief Clerk.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the Senate.
On motion of Mr. Gill,

At 3 1/4 o'clock, P.M., the House took a recess until 8 o'clock
