Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Greenfield presented the petition of Canfield, Bro.
& Co., and two thousand two hundred and seventy-four
other citizens, voters of Baltimore City, praying the passage
of a Local Option Law.

Also,

The petition of one hundred and ninety-eight ladies,
praying for a Local Option Law.

Which were severally read and referred to the Select Com-
mittee on Temperance.

On motion of Mr. Greenfield,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means
to introduce a bill entitled an Act for the promotion of horti-
culture in the State of Maryland.

On motion of Mr. Nutwell,

Leave was granted to the Committee on. the Judiciary to
report a bill entitled an Act to make valid the marriage be-
tween Joseph Owens and Eva Shepherd.

On motion of Mr. Etchison,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to authorize the Town Commissioners of
Bladensburg, iu Prince George's county, to execute a deed
of real estate to Ernest Cook.

On motion of Mr. Merritt,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to add an additional section to the Code of
Public General Laws, title "Evidence."

On motion of Mr. Hart,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Druid
Water Company of Baltimore county,

On motion, of Mr. Loane,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore City delegation to
introduce a bill to repeal an Act passed at January session,
1868, chapter 295, entitled an Act to amend Article four of the
Code of Public LocalLaws, title "Guano," and to re-enact
the same with amendments.

On motion of Mr. Keech,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Waverly
Gas-Light Company.
