Mr. Freaner, Chairman of the Committee on the Judiciary,
from a majority of the Committee, reported unfavorably on

A bill entitled an Act to amend the seventy-fifth Article
of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Pleadings,
Practice and Process," by adding thereto the following sec-
tion, to enable parties reserving exceptions to the rulings or
decisions of the Courts upon any matter at law, or evidence,
to have the same signed and sealed by the Court before the
rendition of the verdict by the jury.

And the unfavorable report was adopted.
Also, unfavorably,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal Article 98, of the Code of
Public General Laws, entitled "Wild Fowl," and also tore-
peal an Act passed at January session, 1872, chapter 54,
entitled an Act to exempt all that portion of the waters of the
Chesapeake Bay lying northward of a certain line therein de-
scribed, from the operations and effects of sections 1 and 3, of
Article 98, of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Wild
Fowl," and to enact other sections to he in force and opera-
tion in, on and over said waters, and to re-enact said Article
98, entitled "Wild Fowl," with amendments.

And the unfavorable report was adopted.

Mr. Greenfield, Chairman of the Committee on Internal
Improvements, reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Chesa-
peake and Ohio Canal Company, and to repeal so much of
the Act passed March 22, 1833, entitled an Act to provide
for the continuation of the Baltimore and Ohio Rail Road to
Harper's Ferry, and for other purposes, as prohibits the
Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Company from selling or dispos-
ing of any of the surplus water of said Canal, to be applied
anywhere within this State to the manufacture of any species
or description of grain, &c.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Foster, Chairman of the Committee on Claims, re-
ported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to
pay the claims of Charles Cole, Welsh, Baker & Company,
Thomas J. Turner, W. H. Vandiford, Charles C. Fulton &
Son, F. W. Baker, A. S. Abell & Company, George Ward,
I. S. Wilson, Joseph H. Johnson, Wm. H. Ruby, Long-
necker Brothers, J. Guest King, W. E. Weber, Keech &
Yellott, and Parran & Williams.
