Mr. Merritt presented the petition of A. S. Hurlock and
others, for a Poll-Tax.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.

Mr. Davis presented the petition of Jas. F. French and
thirty other citizens of Cecil county, praying that no law he
passed doing away with fish-pots on the Susquehanna River,
from the Pennsylvania line to tide-water.

Which was read and referred to the Cecil and Harford
delegations.

Mr. Williams presented the petition of Jasper Nichols,
Wm. T. Kelley and forty-three other citizens of Dorchester
and Caroline counties, praying the passage of a law authoriz-
ing the School Commissioners of the said counties to lay off
and establish a School District.

Which was read and referred to the Dorchester and Caro-
line delegations.

Mr. Merritt presented the petition of E. T. Turner and
others, in favor of Local Option.

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
Temperance.

Mr. Clark presented the petition of Ceney Elms, widow of
Joseph Elms, a soldier of the war of 1812, asking for a pen-
sion.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Turner, of Cecil, presented the petition of J. P. Ru-
ley, Sutton Scarborough and forty-five other citizens of Ce-
cil county, praying the passage of an Act granting Local Op-
tion and Damage Laws.

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee
on Temperance.

Mr. Wier presented the petition of two hundred and eighth
citizens of Frederick, against Local Option.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. Gill, Chairman of the Committee on Education, to
whom was referred,

The memorial of the Visitors and Governors of Washing-
ton College, reported back the same,
