On motion of Mr. Fietchall,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to amend an Act passed January session,
1868, of the General Assembly of Maryland, entitled an Act
to amend the charter of the Cumberland and Pennsylvania
Rail Road Company, passed January session, 1849, chapter
469.

On motion of Mr. Stake,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Internal Improve-
ments to introduce a bill entitled an Act to amend the charter
of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Company, and to repeal so
much of the Act passed March 22, 1833, entitled an Act to pro-
vide for the continuation of the Baltimore and Ohio Rail Road
to Harper's Ferry, and for other purposes, as prohibits the
Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Company, from selling or dispos-
ing of any of the surplus water of said Canal, to be applied
anywhere within this State to the manufacture of any species
or description of grain, &c.

On motion of Mr. McColgan,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore to accept conveyances of, and to
hold certain property lying on or near Charles street avenue,
in Baltimore county, for a public park,

On motion of Mr. Staylor,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Staylor, McCosker, Stewart)
of Baltimore City, McWilliams and Greenfield, to introduce
a bill to increase the jurisdiction of the Justices of the Peace
in Baltimore City.

On motion of Mr. Miller,

Leave was granted to the Frederick delegation to introduce
a bill entitled an Act to incorporate the town of Knoxville, in
Frederick county.

On motion cf Mr. Koons,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
Introduce a bill providing for the examination of practicing
physiians in this State by a Board of Examiners, to be
appointed by the Governor.

On motion of Mr. Bond, (the rules being suspended,)

The House proceeded to the consideration of the bill enti-
tled an Act to add additional sections to Article 41, of the
Code of Public General Laws, title "Fish and Fisheries," sub-
title "Patuxent,"
