Also,

The petition of Susannah Richardson, widow of George
Richardson, a soldier of the war of 1812, asking a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pensions.
On motion by Mr. Blake,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill regulating the issuing of licenses to persons selling or
bartering any goods, wares or merchandise within the limits
of this State, by sample, card, trade list, catalogue or speci-
men.

On motion by Mr. Crawford,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the town of Sharptown, Wi-
comico county.

Mr. Davis presented the petition of the Warren Manufac-
turing Company, S. Baldwin, E. T. Morris and one hundred
others, praying the passage of a law giving to the voters of
each district the right to elect their School Commissioner,
and the patrans of each school the right to elect the trustees
of their school and appoint their own teachers.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion.

Also,

Presented the petition of Thomas C. Bosley, James Ma-
hool and seventy-five others for the passage of laws for the
improvement of roads, regulation, of vagrant stock, and
against dogs for the protection of sheep husbandry.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Davis, Billingsley
and Fields.

On motion by Mr. Steiner,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill entitled "An Act to amend an Act entitled
an Act to incorporate the Methodist Episcopal Church, in
Frederick, passed February the twenty-fourth, eighteen hun-
dred and forty-one, chapter one hundred and twenty-five.

On motion by Mr. Tuck,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill entitled "An Act, supplementary to the Act of eigh-
teen hundred and seventy, chapter 213, making an addi-
