of the exemption in said section mentioned.

Also,

A hill entitled an Act to repeal section 97, of Article 81,
of Public General Laws, entitled "Bevenue and Taxes," and
to re-enact the same with amendments.

On motion of Mr. Turner, of Baltimore county, (the rules
being suspended,)

The House proceeded to the consideration of the bill enti-
tled an Act to repeal section 4, of the Acts of 1860, chapter
274, entitled an Act to incorporate the Baltimore and Liberty
Turnpike Company, and to re-enact a substitute therefor.

Said bill being upon a second reading,

On motion of Mr. Turner, of Baltimore county,

The further consideration thereof was postponed, and said
bill referred to the Baltimore county delegation.

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Baltimore
Gazette Publishing Company,

Being upon a second reading,

Mr. Keech submitted the following amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED,

Add the following, to be numbered section 8, and make
section 8 read section 9:

SECTION 8. And be it enacted, That the General Assembly
of Maryland hereby reserves to itself the right to alter,
amend or repeal this A.ct at pleasure.

The propo'sed amendment was adopted, and the bill, as
amended, read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to add an additional section to
Article 30, of the Code of the Public General Laws, entitled
"Crimes and Punishments,"

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to refund to Mr. Tiralla, owner
of the schooner "Hester Ann," a sum of money paid by him
into the Treasury of the State,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
