The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following mes-
sage:

Br THE SENATE,

February 26th, 1874.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We propose, with the concurrence of your Honorable Body,
the appointment of a Joint Committee of five, two on the
part of the Senate and three on the. part of the House, to wait
on his Excellency, James B. Groome, the Governor elect, and
inform him of his election, and request his attendance on
Wednesday, the 4th of March next, at 12 o'clock, M., in the
Senate Chamber, to qualify according to the Constitution and
form of government of this State.

We have appointed, on the part of the Senate, Messrs,
Lloyd and Knight.

Secretary.
Which was read.

Mr. Turner, of Baltimore county, submitted the following
message :

By THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

February 26th, 1874.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

We have received your message informing us of the appoint-
ment of a Joint Committee of two on the part of the Senate,
and three on the part of the House, to wait on his Excellency
the Governor elect, and request his attendance on Wednesday,
the 4th instant, at 12 o'clock, M., in the Senate Chamber,
to qualify according to the Constitution and form of govern-
ment of the State, and respectfully concur therein.

We have appointed on the part of the House, Messrs.
Turner, of Baltimore county, Stake and Annan.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the Senate.
