1874 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 26,

on account of sickness, and would have voted for the bill
providing for Local Option in Worcester county, could he
have been present.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Turner, of Cecil, submitted the following order:

Ordered, That Mr. Mackey be excused from attendance in
this House until Monday next, on account of urgent business.

On motion of Mr. Fenton,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Fenton, Loane, C. R. Ham-
ilton, Hart and McCosker, to introduce a bill regulating the
salary of the Crier of the Supreme Court, Court of Common
Pleas and Baltimore City Court of Baltimore City.

On motion of Mr. Sudler,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Agriculture to in-
troduce a bill entitled an Act to prevent the willful pulling
down offences or leaving open gates on private property.

On motion of Mr. Merritt,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to add an additional section to the Public
General Laws, title "Conveying."

On motion of Mr. Leonard,

Leave was granted to the Wicobeco and Worcester dele-
gations to introduce a bill for the better regulation of public
roads in Wicomico county.

On motion of Mr. Brown,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to authorize the Trustees of the Providence
Methodist Protestant Church, near Mechanicsville, in Car-
roll county, to convey said church property to the heirs of
William Griffee, late of said county, deceased.

On motion of Mr. Freaner,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to amend Article 10, of the Code of Public
General Laws, relating to attachments, by adding thereto
an additional section.

On motion of Mr. Bond,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to intro-
duce a bill to authorize the Comptroller of the Treasury to
issue his warrant to the Treasurer, in favor of John A.
